In this 1 day course you will teach/train/program Spot to dance.

You will choreograph, program and record your very own robot dance! You will get hands-on time with Spot and learn about it’s different moves. And yes! Dancing with Spot is highly encouraged!


This course is a rare opportunity to learn the skills and experience to operate and develop on this incredible robot. If you are interested in getting hands on with Boston Dynamics Spot, this is one of the very few trainings offered anywhere in the world. This is one of the only chances most of us will get to play fetch with such an advanced commercial robot.


This is an excellent training to differentiate you from others to potential employers, or to explore what a robot like this can do without spending $70k.

Project: Choreograph a Dance Routine

  1. Familiarize yourself with Spot’s hardware, movements and basic functionality (1 hour )
  2. Go through Spot’s movements and learn Spot’s Choreography Software (1 hour)
  3. Teach Spot to Dance (1 hour)
  4. Choreograph your own dance and record it (2 hours)

Pre-Requisites

  • You should not be scared of robots
  • You should enjoy seeing robots dance
  • Experience listening to music and dancing is not required but highly recommended.

You’ll be hands-on from day one. Our program is 100% project based.

No Experience necessary. All levels welcome. We will have laptops set up with all the software and connections already established.

Sessions will be a mix of collaborative work sessions, research and independent study time.
